A Quick Salt Lake City Guide For Visiting Students

Transportation and flight to Salt Lake City are surprisingly easy!

Salt Lake City classes are held at:



This central downtown location is incredibly accessible—close to hotels, food, coffee, TRAX stations, the airport, and The Gateway outdoor mall. It’s one of the easiest places in Utah to travel to without needing a car.


AIRPORT ACCESS — So Close You’ll Be Surprised

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is only 10–12 minutes from class.

  • Fly in the night before for a smoother experience.

  • For traveling home, choose a flight 7 PM or later on the final day, or stay one extra night to rest or receive treatment.

SLC is known for its clean terminals, short walking distances, and fast luggage service—zero chaos.

  • 300 North / 200 West – SLC

  • Downtown Salt Lake City

  • Marmalade District” (quiet, charming neighborhood 2–4 minutes away)

Private rooms and small studios often start around $65–$90/night.


Hotels (2–6 minutes away)

  • Hyatt House Downtown

  • Courtyard by Marriott Downtown

  • Radisson Salt Lake City Downtown

  • Hampton Inn Salt Lake Downtown

  • AC Hotel by Marriott

All are clean, safe, modern, and easy to reach by TRAX or a short Uber.


TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS

Renting a Car

Not required—this location is one of the best in SLC for no-car travel. But if you want full freedom to explore the city or mountains, it’s convenient.


TRAX is extremely easy from the airport or anywhere downtown.

  • From the Airport TRAX Station, take the Green Line.

  • Get off at Arena Station or North Temple Bridge Station.

  • The classroom is a 5–7 minute walk from either stop.

The area is flat, well-lit, and pedestrian-friendly.


Uber / Lyft

Very affordable in this area:

  • Airport → Class: $12–$20

  • Anywhere Downtown → Class: $6–$10


Carpooling

Because of our intimate class sizes, we can often help you coordinate transportation with other students.

  • STK – Happy hour and upscale American eatery (Recommend their $10 burger!)

Inside The Gateway (3 minutes away)

Everything is close enough to walk to and return within the lunch break comfortably.

Located just 3 minutes from class, The Gateway is an open-air mall perfect for:

  • Shopping

  • Artwork & fountains

  • Relaxing between sessions

It’s easy to get there via walking, TRAX, or Uber.


(Light Rail) TRAX MAKES SALT LAKE SIMPLE

TRAX connects you to:

  • University of Utah

  • 200 South restaurant district

  • Sugar House

  • The Gateway

Trains are clean, inexpensive, and frequent. Many students choose not to rent a car because this area is so well-connected.



DAY ONE! Bring your book, sheets and a pillow if possible. We begin with Qi Gong, introductions, and the fundamentals of Hendrickson Method. You will experience a full day dedicated to learning the three FOUNDATIONS of Hendrickson Method! We practice the Wave Mobilization and other basic formulas for clinical application. Each student will work with the teacher to ensure the student can experience and embody HM. Next, we focus on six isometric treatments called MET's and create a pattern of the why, where, and how to apply this effective method from each chapter. Finally, we synchronize our joint mobilizations from Massage and Manual Therapy for Orthopedic Conditions by Tom Hendrickson. Each following day will dive into this book for each specific regions of the body!
